Lagos Poetry Thon and Arts Fest  is the premier round the clock  poetry  and arts fest in Lagos, Nigeria.  Since inception ; it has trained and guided over 50000 youths and has influenced the literary and artistic  paths of creatives  through workshops, education, scholarship , mentorship and technical  support  to participants. It has also become the hub of poets and griots to communicate , interact and share relevant resources and information  as one big family.

 Lagos Poetrython  has expressions in paintings, photography, poetry slam, book readings, high school poetry debate, master classes and a creative academy.

Spoken Words Academy

Spoken word academy : spoken word academy is an oratory laboratory for  public speaking , performance poetry , creative writing and workshops for toast masters and art enthusiasts


We consult for organizations on  partnerships , sponsorship, arts festival ,  opportunities, event  planning & management,  and  creative advisory


This is a special project to help the underserved in society. We equip them with basic school items such as bags , maths set , food items to prepare them for resumption of class and teach them basic writing and performing skills

Learning with Celebrities Conference

During the learning with celebrities conference , participants are mentored and taught master classes by celebrities in the artistic space . We have had mentor like Timi Dakolo, ID Cabasa, Lola 1 , Olakunle Soriyan grace our platform


We organize workshops for creatives and authors to engage in critical thinking and share creative resources to further improve and expand their capacities

Sammy Hazzan

Sammy Sage Hassan is a teacher, life coach and author. He is Nigeria’s premier spoken word poet with two albums and a thousand or more performances on large stages, television, radio and small venues in near 20 years of an active performance poetry career. His book Dream Maker is touted as an inspirational classic. He also writes biographies and books for governments and organizations. Sage is a filmmaker with two short films to his credit and a documentary titled The Nigerian Dream; he also lends his voice and face to film and stage. As teacher and life coach he hopes to curate the wisdom and knowledge of all time for future generations.

 Olukorede Yishau 

Olukorede Yishau is journalist, novelist and short story writer. He has have been a journalist for 21 years and over the years. He has reported from Singapore, United States, South Africa, China and several states in Nigeria. He has won some of Nigeria’s most prestigious media honours, including Columnist of the Year, Capital Market Reporter of the Year, Aviation Industry Reporter of the Year and Entertainment Reporter of the Year. 

His debut novel, In the Name of Our Father, was nominated for the Nigeria Prize for Literature this year and it was described by two-time Booker Prize finalist Chigozie Obioma as a “work of deceptive simplicity”. The book has been used for graduate and postgraduate theses in Nigerian universities. His second book, Vaults of Secrets, is a collection of short stories and it is receiving rave reviews.

Tolu Akinyemi

Tolu’ A. Akinyemi (also known as Tolutoludo & Lion of Newcastle) is a multi-award-winning Nigerian author in the genre of poetry, short story, Children’s Literature and essays, Literature, 2021) and A god in a human body (Poetry, forthcoming –  January 2022). Tolu’ has been endorsed by the Arts Council England as a writer with “exceptional talent”. A former headline act at Great Northern Slam, Crossing The Tyne Festival, and Feltonbury Arts and Music Festival, he also inspires large audiences through spoken word performances. He is a co-founder of Lion and Lilac, a UK-based arts organisation and sits on the board of many organisations. Tolu’ is a financial crime consultant as well as a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) with extensive experience working with leading investment banks and consultancy firms.

Tofunmi Babatunde

Product-oriented Technology Team Lead with more than 9 years of deep technical experience developing, implementing and supporting complex infrastructures. Specialized in the design and delivery of scalable mission-critical software systems. Tofunmi is an art enthusiast with flare for literature. He gives tech perspectives to artistic ideations and products.

Muyiwa Adeola Babayomi

Muyiwa is a poet, author, script analyst, traditional flutist and cultural producer. He studied Electrical Electronics Engineering in Obafemi Awolowo University as an undergraduate. His studies were fully sponsored by the MTN foundation – the largest telecommunication company in Africa. This opportunity had enabled him to balance his education with a burgeoning interest in the arts, an intersection that has shaped his creative and professional journey. 

Muyiwa is deeply committed to enriching the African cultural landscape through his diverse creative contributions. He also lends his time to the industry as a faculty member at the Lagos Poetrython where he nurtures and works with emerging cultural talents in West Africa, where he shares and promotes African diverse cultural narratives.

A multi-award-winning poet, spoken word artist, and dramatist with over 10 years in the literary field, exploring the human condition and creating works that attempt to provide answers to the myriads of questions deep within our souls. Master of African speculative realism, author of “Teaching Father How to Impregnate Women”, selected as winner of the RL Poetry Award. Holds a B. Tech in Mathematics and Computer Science. A workshop facilitator for various private poetry programs, and convener - Poetry Meet Series, a platform for the nurturing of young poets. 

 John Akerele

John Akerele currently  lives in Republic of Ireland where he  is a member of the Irish Literary Society.  John's focus is on girl-child related issues. The  gender inequality he saw in the society inspired him to write and publish his first book titled “Blood on the Dancefloor”. He hopes to contribute to the poetry community through other publications that are in the works.

Deborah Morenike Yisah has a background in creative arts. She has directed plays , dance and drama during arts festivals and is an alumna of the Lagos Poetrython Academy. She received endowments and awards for being an outstanding student of the arts in her undergraduate days. Deborah’s debut collection of poems, Under the orange sky has been reviewed in both local and international journals and is still receiving lots of reviews. She is a member of the Poetry society, UK.
